How to Apply

Applications are screened, and will be unscreened after being accepted. Please do not edit your application after submitting it; this makes it harder to process the app.

Player information
Name:
Contact: List your preferred contact methods.
Are you 18 or over? You must be at least 18 to play in this game.
Other characters played: List names and journals.

Character information
Name: First name, last name.
Age: Real age, plus how old they look if relevant.
Date of Birth: Day/Month/Year. If you don't know, make it up.
Canon: What series are they from? If you are applying for an OC, put "Original".
Species: Human, Meta Human, Fae, Ghost, Shapeshifter, Vampire, Witch, or Werewolf. If you choose a type that is different from your character's type in canon (e.g. apping a human character as a vampire), briefly explain why this choice fits your character. If you would like to start off your character as a human and then turn them into a ghost, vampire or werewolf soon after their arrival in the game, say so here.
Role: What does your character do for a living? Choose up to two factions other than the Night Council that your character would be suitable to join, and explain what role your character could play within those factions. Please note that you are not guaranteed to get the exact role you want.
Rank: What rank would you like your character to be? Choose 1-2 or 3-4. Note that the higher ranks require more activity.
Background: Briefly describe your character's AU history. The character's background must be adapted to the world of the game. This can be edited and expanded later on as you work out histories and relationships with other players. 1000 words max.
Personality: Briefly outline your character's personality. What drives them? What is most important to them? 1000 words max.
Powers & Possessions: Explain how powerful your character is relative to others of their kind, and list any special skills or abilities that aren't covered by the powers overview for your character's type. Refer to the Powers page for guidance on how to describe your character's powers. Note that you do not need to choose your character's strength and magic rating; that will be decided for you based on the description here. Please also list any weapons or useful items that belong to your character. If you don't list it, you can't have it. 500 words max.
Samples: Link to at least two substantial threads of you playing your character. Third person samples only. These can be bracket-style or prose. Sample threads of the canon version of your character are acceptable. Samples should be relatively recent (less than two years old). If you don't have two threads to submit, you can substitute one thread only for a third person prose sample of at least 300 words. This should be set in the world of the game. You will still need to submit one thread along with your prose sample in this case.

World building
This section is optional, unless you have listed any spells or items in the Powers & Possessions section which do not already exist in the game world. In that case, please elaborate on them in the appropriate sections here. Other than that, this is your chance to suggest additions to the world of the game. You can bring in places, items and spells from your character's canon, or make something up. All suggestions will be considered and selected ideas will then be added to the game. If a place, item or spell is not selected, it will not be available.

Locations: You can bring in or make up a location for the game. Locations can be buildings or establishments, anything that would plausibly exist in London. Please use the following form for each location:

Items: Please check the list of magical and supernatural items that are available to characters. You can add to this list by bringing in items from your character's canon or making something up. If your character owns a magical item that isn't on the item list, include it here. Please use the following form for each item:

Magic: Witchcraft is a varied and inventive art. There's always something new to learn. List here any magic spells that you would like to add to the magic list. If you would like your character to have access to any spells that are not on the magic list, include them here. Please use the following form for each spell:

After Applying
Every effort is made to process applications within a week, and usually you can expect an initial response within three days. Feel free to PM the mod account if you have not heard back after a week. Revision requests will only be given out once, so please make sure you hit all the points that were requested. Players will have five days to respond to revision requests. If no response is received after five days, the application will be automatically declined.

If an application is declined, you must wait at least one week before applying for that character again.
