Character Rewards
After meeting the minimum activity requirements, you can also submit additional activity in exchange for points, which you can spend on rewards.

At each activity check, you can convert your comment count into points. The exchange rate is as follows:

Ten comments = 1 point

These ten comments do not have to be in the same thread, they can be from any number of threads. Any extra comments that don't add up to ten won't get you anything. For example, if you have 15 additional comments beyond the minimum activity requirements, this would net you 1 point. If you have 20 additional comments, this would net you 2 points. If you have 29 additional comments, this would still net you 2 points, as the extra nine comments aren't enough to reach one more point.

• You must pass the minimum activity requirements first. Posts and threads that you submit for AC cannot be used to exchange for points, even if they go beyond the minimum activity requirement. Nor can you claim any points if you are on hiatus, just checking in or you fail the activity check. The rewards system is for additional activity only.
• For any posts that you didn't use for AC, you can count your starter post as one comment.
• You can only count comments that are posted by you. Comment spamming (i.e. posting multiple responses to a single comment) only counts as one reply.
• Text messages, phone calls and other network-style posts and comments cannot be exchanged for points.
• Comments must be posted within the AC period i.e. the month before each activity check. You can submit thread comments and comments from posts made by you that were originally started in the month before the AC period, but no older than that. For example, for an August activity check, you could submit comments from a thread that had been started in July, and count the comments from that thread that were made in August. You could not submit comments from a thread that started in June, even if that thread did include comments from August.
• The maximum number of points you can claim at each activity check is 15.
• You can save up points from previous activity checks. So if you received 2 points in one month, you could save these and gain an additional 2 points in the next month, for a total of 4 points.
• There may be some instances where points will not be awarded e.g. if a player's activity consists only of threads between themselves and one other player, or if the submitted activity consists of very short threads that have all been dropped. This will be decided according to mod discretion. Please don't try to game the system.

At any time, you can spend your points. These are the rewards on offer:

3 points
• Move up one rank from level 1 to level 2.
• Gain one level 1 minion.*
• Switch factions or join another faction.
• Receive a grant or favour from your superiors.
• Randomly receive any one of the following: a useful item, an ability, a (temporary) curse.
• Promote a minion to level 2 or 3.†

6 points
• Move up one rank from level 2 to level 3, or from level 3 to level 4.‡
• Gain one level 2 minion.*
• Receive a special reward or project funding from the Night Council.*
• Bribe a Night Council member.*
• Receive a low-mid level item of your choosing.
• Gain an ability of your choosing. See the Powers page for details.
• Increase strength or magic by 1. See the Powers page for details.

12 points
• Receive a high level or one-of-a-kind item. Can be random or chosen by you.
• Guardian reward. A one-time only mod-chosen reward that can only be claimed by level 3 Guardians.
• Move up one rank from level 4 to level 5.‡
• Gain a territory.†

*Only level 2 or above characters may claim this reward.
†Only level 4 or 5 characters may claim this reward.
‡To go up to level 3, players must have led a plot with the relevant character during their current level. To go up to level 4 or 5, players must have led a territory claim with the relevant character during their current level.

Except for gaining minions and bribing Night Council members, you can only claim each reward once per month. If you request a grant/favour from your superiors or a special reward/project funding from the Night Council, please say what you would like to receive. These rewards will not be given out at random.

If you claim a territory, please say what territory you are claiming and which faction you are claiming it for. You can only claim territories adjacent to those territories that belong to your faction.

For every reward that you receive, it is up to you to decide how and when you will receive it, but ideally it should be within the next month. Use it to help you plot! There are some things on this list that should influence the game plot, and that you will need to discuss and work out with other players.

Faction Rewards
You can also receive rewards by working together as a group. These rewards depend on your involvement with the game plot. Approximately every three months, the number of plots and territory claims run per player will be calculated for every faction. Player-generated plots will also be counted in this number.

The faction with the highest score can then choose one of the following rewards:

• Gain a territory.
• Change a law in their faction's favour.
• Form an alliance with another faction.

Each player in the winning faction will then vote on their preferred reward. The chosen reward will be incorporated into the game plot for the next month. If the players vote to form an alliance with another faction, then the two groups will be considered together as a single faction for the next round of group rewards.
