Hillingdon Clan
Hillingdon Clan ![]() Locations ♦ Roles The newest faction in London, the Hillingdon Clan has its roots in the late 1920s when supernatural unrest in the city caused a family of werecats to flee. They settled in and around Uxbridge, which at that point was not yet a London borough. The family lived there quietly and for several generations shapeshifters were the only supernatural presence in the area. In 1963, Hillingdon formally became part of Greater London and the clan were required to declare themselves to the Night Council. For many years they maintained a policy of isolation, refusing to get involved with inner London politics. Decades later and the clan faced a dilemma: their numbers were dwindling but more and more often they found themselves playing host to outcasts and hunters of various kinds, who had fled central London to escape an enemy or to lay low before their next hunt. Reluctantly, the clan helped these vagrants, providing them with shelter or a place to hide. As the shapeshifters moved out, others moved in. Now the Hillingdon Clan share their home with a loose-knit collection of hunters, dissidents and others. Its historic reluctance to associate with the Night Council and its location on the outskirts of London have made it a haven for those who suspect corruption in the more powerful factions. The clan today is a ragtag group that has been lacking in any real organization. While some members are vehemently anti-vampire and there is a general distrust of the Night Council, the clan's current leader is advocating a policy of cautious neutrality. Locations Hillingdon House Previously occupied by the military, Hillingdon House was the clan's family home from 1965 until 2003 when it was abandoned and fell into disuse. In the last five years or so it has been used as a secret hideout for hunters, who discovered that the family left behind a considerable stash of weapons and other hunting paraphernalia in the house and grounds. Since then it has earned the nickname "Hunter's Retreat". Roles The Hillingdon Clan is a much more loosely structured group than other factions, united mainly by their shared desire to live away from the rules imposed by the Night Council and the witches. Level 1 Younger or less experienced members of the clan. Anyone new to the clan also starts off at this level. Level 2 Senior Clan Member Older or more experienced members of the clan, who act as mentors to younger members, teaching and guiding them. Hunter Vampire hunters, ghost hunters, witch hunters: they all have a place within the clan. Level 3 Clan Leader The leader of a group or family of shapeshifters. They are responsible for the clan's well-being and for dealings with other supernatural types. Level 4 Faction Leader The leader of the Hillingdon Clan as a whole. |
